I ordered the vegan chicken burger and my... read more My partner and I visited Laxey Kitchen for the first time recently and we were impressed by the atmosphere and decor. I ordered the vegan chicken burger and my partner ordered the Beyond Burger, both with wedges. We both enjoyed our meals, although I was expecting a homemade chicken burger and was surprised to find it was a Fry's burger. Nonetheless, I love Fry's burgers and would have made it at home myself. The meal was accompanied by a delicious salad dressing. I will definitely return to try more of their seemingly homemade dishes like the sticky tofu. I appreciated the ambiance and overall dining experience, but I wished there was a bit more dressing on our salads. I am looking forward to trying more of their menu items on my next visit!

They are omnivores and ordered the soup of the day, which was lentil and tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich, as well as a cheese and onion pie with salad, coleslaw, and tortilla chips. I opted for the vegan mezze, which included homemade falafel, salad, houmous, chili sauce, and bread. To drink, we enjoyed a classic hot chocolate with whipped cream, a chai latte, and watermelon lemonade. The food was absolutely delicious! The pie and mezze had generous portions of crisp, fresh salad. The soup had just the right amount of spiciness. The homemade houmous had a nice texture and the bread with the mezze was a fluffy focaccia that was perfect for soaking up flavors. We all left the cafe feeling pleasantly full and I also picked up a chunk of vegan gin and tonic cake to enjoy later in the evening. The cake had a generous amount of a dark, pillowy sponge with a tasty layer of icing and a slice of lemon on top. Everyone loved it. The cafe is conveniently located near the Laxey tram station and the post office. It was quite busy when we visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon, but the staff were friendly and the music (a mix of Motown and Stevie Wonder) added to the enjoyable atmosphere.
