I would return just for the service alone, as the gentleman who seated us allowed us to enjoy the iconic shovel breakfast even though breakfast service was ending in 5 minutes. He was attentive and did not rush us at all. The food itself was of high quality and the railway theme added a nice touch to the already charming venue. The restaurant is located in the old train ticket hall in Douglas, just a 5-10 minute walk from the Douglas ferry terminal. They also offer a train dining service that connects to the train ticket hall.

The waiters were extremely polite and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, it is a lovely spot to enjoy a delicious meal to start your day off right.

Sadly the breakfast was not as a reminder, the service was slow, my coffee order was forgotten about and I had to remind them after 15 minutes that I was still... read more Sadly the breakfast was not as a reminder, the service was slow, my coffee order was forgotten about and I had to remind them after 15 minutes that I was still waiting for a latte, the food wasn’t that fresh and I picked up a piece of toast from the basket that had mould on the side, serving the crusts of bread for the French toast also. I don’t think I’ll be returning for the Firmans breakfast.
