This was the last night of our holiday in Canada and we were really glad we had chosen L'Etoile de Tunis for our final meal. The six of us each enjoyed our choices. I particularly liked the desserts - so much so that I ate two. The service was lovely and the final bill was very reasonable. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about L'Etoile de Tunis:
If you like Tunisian cuisine, avoid this restaurant! servings are small and expensive, especially salads ($8 the mini portion of mechouia salad!). The couscous was totally bad, swimming in the sauce that was too liquid and not seasoned enough. the delicious Tunisian spices were absent and we found our fades and boring dishes. we were not offered extras or to-côtes. The service was medium, polite but no more. the pain... View all feedback.
"Friendly atmosphere couscous... Family-friendly atmosphere. Delicious couscous. The fresh and tasty brick appetizer."
This is truly the top North African restaurant in the city. A family-owned establishment serving up delicious homemade dishes bursting with flavor. The prices are very reasonable. You must try their Tunisian specialties such as Tunisian salad, Mechouia salad (a grilled vegetable salad), Brik (fried dumplings with a potato and tuna filling), and of course their house-made couscous. Overall, a fantastic restaurant for North African cuisine!
The couscous at this restaurant is incredible! I have been there with four different people and they all enjoyed it. I also liked the briks, which are like large omelette dumplings. In my opinion, the prices are cheap, ranging from $12-18 for the couscous plates, which are large portions. I highly recommend trying it out, but I cannot speak for the rest of the menu. The house white wine is also pretty good.
Habiba made us feel so welcome and at home! The brique a l'oeuf was like eating in heaven, the olives, bread, tea all exceptionally good and the cous cous delicious, the chicken so tender I cut it with a spoon. Bonus: wheelchair accessible so I bring mum.
Really very good food. Fantastic flavors, quick service and healthy portions. Definitely a must for anyone.
