High Five
Description
Tucked into a charming Main Street strip, High Five is a small, Black- and family-owned café known for creamy ice cream, waffles, smoothies and smoothie bowls with inventive flavors. Patrons praise the food and occasional attentive counter service, and the shop adapted well to delivery and online ordering. However, inconsistent posted hours, unexpected closures and sporadic slow or distracted service (and a premium price on bowls) make visits unpredictable—worth trying for dessert and coffee lovers, but check hours before you go.

The owner was rude and unfriendly, and he kept looking at his phone while I was speaking to him. Considering it's a small family business that claims to promote friendliness, I found that surprising. I thought it might have just been an off day, but I've seen similar comments from others. It's really their loss.
I live right down the street from High Five and I would be a regular customer if they were consistent. Unfortunately, the business hours listed are not correct and regularly are closed with no explanation. They will close randomly on Fridays and you just never know when they're going to be open. I shouldn't have to check social media to see if they will be open or not. The smoothie bowls are great but overpriced in comparison to other businesses. Additionally, when I am able to catch them, they are very slow to fill orders to the point where I have seen people just walk out and not be served/spoken to at all and it was only two people in the shop... Wish I could support them.
I live just down the street from High Five, and I would be a regular customer if they could just maintain some consistency. Unfortunately, the listed business hours are often inaccurate, and they frequently close unexpectedly without any notice. They sometimes shut down on Fridays with no prior warning, so you never really know when they will be open. It shouldn't be necessary for me to check social media just to find out if they're operating. While their smoothie bowls are delicious, I find them a bit overpriced compared to other places. Additionally, when I do manage to catch them open, the service is quite slow. I've witnessed customers simply walk out without being served or even acknowledged, and there were only two people in the shop at the time. I really wish I could support this business.
It seems to be a one man operation. The hours could be better. But the shakes are great. The gentleman does work hard to run a good shop.
