Great French Restaurant where the meat is cooked on the fire. Lovely atmosphere, and very well organized. Can get very busy, so maybe reserve. Just a thought. Enjoy
Very enjoyable simple country food at a very reasonable price. I had the pork which was tasty but I will have the beef next time as it will be cooked on the open fire.
A return visit to this lovely village restaurant used by many locals and workers. The food is delicious, and five courses with wine and coffee costs just over twenty euros. Our choices were a variety of the usual Course 1: cold starters crudites, pate, charcuterie, pickled herring. Course 2: a hot starter of either Cassoulet de Poissons, porc kidneys with rice, or onion tart. Course 3: main course was either Saute de Porc in Cider, Salmon Gratin, or a Grillade (either steak, sausages, or pork chop cooked on an open wood fire) served an appropriate variety of side dishes. Course 4: a cheese board to help yourself. Course 5: choice of half a dozen or so deserts. My lemon cheesecake was a proper one, and absolutely divine. My dining friends had a Chocolate Fondant, and a Tarte Tropezienne. We had red wine, and white wine, but I think you could also have Normandy Cirder, Today it felt tranquil, but we have been when it 's been much busier. It isn 't gourmet food, no fancy drizzles and 'jus ' but it 's tasty, the portions are ample, and we had clean plates all round on every course.
This lunch time restaurant is a hidden gem. Do not be put off by the outside. Fabulous food and a warm welcome from Agnes and her staff.
Good value lunch at 14,50 Euro complete. And I do mean complete! Cold starter followed by homemade hot starter, main course cheese and desert plus coffee and as much red wine or cider as you would like. Main course more hearty than finesse, can also choose to have a grill cooked on the open fire. Please note this place only opens for lunch.
