Unfortunately, I had a really disgusting experience. I wanted cheese on my sub and the employee took out a slice that had a piece of bacon on it. I thought he would remove it but he left it on! Even worse, when he was about to put my sauce on it he noticed that another sauce had spilled out so he tried to wipe it away with his hand and then touched my sub

I’ve been a Subway customer for over 20 years. When I was a kid, it was the only fast food place I could go to get a full vegetarian meal. So, it’s safe to say I have eaten at *a lot* of Subways, both in Germany and in the US. The best part about it—and why I consistently go back—is that you get a filling, custom sandwich quickly and without a lot of fuss. You know exactly how long it’ll take to get your food because it’s made right in front of you. The new electronic terminals have destroyed this. They don’t work properly—I tried about 10-15 times to pay with card, and the machine just never seemed to send the signal to the card reader. So, it takes longer to order. It’s more annoying. And then you *still* have to just go to the register to pay. Why couldn’t we just do that in the first place?! Plus, now that I can’t see them making my sandwich, I’m nervous that something is going to end up in there that shouldn’t be there. Just the other day, at a Subway in the Munich airport, I almost got chicken teriyaki in my sandwich instead of veggie teriyaki like I had ordered. But since I was right there, I could politely clarify before the employee made a sandwich I couldn’t eat—which would have been a waste. I’m not a Luddite by any means. Technology can be a great improvement in a lot of processes. But not everything needs to be a freaking touch screen. If it’s been working for over 20 years, maybe just keep doing that! Subway corporate—please just go back to what you’re good at.
