Great little very busy rustic cafe. Very popular with walkers and local visitors to Silverdale. Excellent home made cakes, scones and some hot dishes. Excellent sausage and bacon ciabatta rolls. We have been coming to The Wolf House for years, Ed and his staff work very hard to present good food in what are very difficult times for the hospitality industry. What albeback1 doesn't like about The Wolfhouse:
Stopped here for cream teas. Nice outside seating area with play area for children. The scones, though a good size, weren’t particularly good. Served with small prepackaged jam and one small pot of cream for the two of us. Tea was okay. Wouldn’t rush back View all feedback.
I think the photos speak for themselves, absolutely filthy. If you pay young girls peanuts to work for you, what can you expect!
The cafe is dirty, as are the plates and cups, the toilet is a no go with a blocked sink. It’s hard to believe that the owner thinks it’s acceptable to serve food and drinks in such a place and for the prices charged. I won’t be returning.
Coffee was half full, food sizes tiny, dirty and really expensive. Seating uncomfortable. I hope it improves or changes owner soon, as I used to love this place. Now it is just a rip off.
They do a delicious steamed salmon ciabatta- always have one when I visit. Bit pricey at £6.75 but plenty of salmon and other salad items , However when I visited yesterday I was still charged £6.75 but when served the ciabatta was the size of a large scone and more salad than salmon ! I understand they have to make a profit and things are getting harder but I won’t be paying that again.
I was thirsty while out walking so called in here for a can of Coke to take away. It was only later that I realised I’d been charged £2.00 for it. I know they have overheads but that’s taking the mick.
