Menu

Nestled in Silverdale, this charming cafe offers a quirky atmosphere, delicious homemade cakes, and quality coffee. While the outdoor seating is inviting and perfect for walkers, patrons often encounter challenges with the limited menu and occasional pricing discrepancies. The coffee can be too strong for some, and there have been reports of cleanliness issues and service inconsistencies. However, many reviewers celebrate the friendly staff and remarkable desserts. With highlights like wood-oven pizzas on Friday nights, this spot has potential for a pleasant outing, though guests may hope for improvements in menu clarity and overall tidiness.

Was angiejseager at The Wolfhouse a mag?
Great little very busy rustic cafe. Very popular with walkers and local visitors to Silverdale. Excellent home made cakes, scones and some hot dishes. Excellent sausage and bacon ciabatta rolls. We have been coming to The Wolf House for years, Ed and his staff work very hard to present good food in what are very difficult times for the hospitality industry. Nothing will be cheap with the costs rising as they are and... View all feedback.

What albeback1 dislikes about The Wolfhouse:
Stopped here for cream teas. Nice outside seating area with play area for children. The scones, though a good size, weren’t particularly good. Served with small prepackaged jam and one small pot of cream for the two of us. Tea was okay. Wouldn’t rush back View all feedback.

This restaurant is not as good as it used to be. The coffee was weak and tasted like water. The chef brought out the food after wiping his hands on his pants several times, which was unhygienic. I will not be coming back.

Called in for a coffee while out around Silverdale.Coffee's were well presented. My flat white coffee was far too strong ,as was my wife's oat milk latte (she left hers) ,I asked for more milk ,which the proprietor gave me without question ,it made it drinkable. We had a scone but they didn't have any jam ,which was fine it was very tasty .The cafe is very quirky ,but looked like it needed a good clean the bare wiring coming from the ceiling lights was a little concerning .Been in worse Cafe's ,but I don't think we would re visit.

Lovely food but terrible service. Waited ages to get served with staff wandering around ignoring the long queue that was forming at the counter. Then took a while for our very simple order to arrive. Two young waitresses looked totally fed up. Also smallest menu I've ever seen in a cafe very limited choice. Very disappointing and not a patch on how this cafe used to be.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for years. It's a great spot to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the owner can be rude when interacting with customers and the place is starting to look a bit run down. In the current challenging times for the hospitality industry, we always try to support local businesses. However, the attitude we experienced during our last visit was completely unnecessary.

We have been loyal customers of The Wolfhouse for 16 years, having seen several different owners come and go. In the past, the restaurant was much cleaner and more presentable, but it still remains a convenient, local spot for us to visit. However, our recent experience on Easter weekend was quite disappointing. Despite ordering a coffee and some delicious bruschetta with grilled vegetables and cheese, we waited for 45 minutes without receiving our food. Other customers who had ordered after us were served before us, and when we inquired about our order, the person we believe to be the owner was dismissive and rude. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was also lacking, as the toilet sink was overflowing and the interior and exterior could use some attention. While we are hesitant to return, we are still willing to support a struggling local business, but urge them to improve their service and hygiene standards.
