The roast beef was very fatty, and where there was meat it was gelatinous, chewy, and difficult to cut (particularly with the poor quality knives supplied), so that we left more than we ate despite being hungry. I now remember it was like this over a year ago, so that 's not likely to change. The 'cheesecake ' served in little enamel dishes, was in fact some diminutive cheap-tasting biscuit-like substance with a cheesecake-like-substance piped on top in rosettes. SERVICE: Our aperitifs arrived minutes before our mains; our mains were served without a wine order being taken; our mains plates were left on the table for more than 30 minutes, obliging us to remove them ourselves; and our wine arrived with our puddings an hour after our mains. The staff were pleasant enough, just too inexperienced and stretched.

We had our own bartender for the evening with a decent array of drinks, we could play our own music that went to a suitable volume for the number of people present, and the room was a great size and really nicely furnished. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat, but based on my limited previous experience of this venue the food is really good. Would recommend this place to anyone who is planning a private party!
