Great place for TXMex because it's MI. I live in Austin. I have read about the cheese used, it is the same cheese that is used throughout the TXMex world. The price is on point. $4 margarita is very good View all feedback.
What Travis Bogisich doesn't like about Magdalena's:
We’ve given this restaurant a few chances. We will not be going back. I feel like they’re way over priced. Literally everything is charged separate. We got a carry out the other day… for 2 enchilada dinners (that don’t even come with any sides, rice and beans are separate, on the side is a little lettuce and a tiny slice of tomato), a few tamales and 1 bean burrito was $70. The melted cheese on top tasted like melted... View all feedback.

If you're looking for fine food and high class, it's probably not for you. But if you want a place cozy with good food and friendly people, then I think you will be this picturesque little place as much as I am. Thanks for the great service Jenna!
The staff was very friendly and the waitress we had was very good to answer our questions as we were never there. The menu is very like a construction of your own plate type of setup. It was kind of overwhelming to find out what to look for if you are looking for a planned dish to order. Each product on the plate was an add-on. Unless you ordered the dinners on the back. I loaded the 12 cattle nachos. It comes stacked with each chip. That was nice, because usually in Nachos you have a stack and half of the chips hardly get anything on them. I was filled and could not finish all 12
First time here and it was packed with one waitress and one bartender. We knew we needed to be patient. We did get drinks fast for being so busy. There was little black specks of something floating in my very sweet margarita. Food orders were taken and the plate of food that they presented to us was not soup kitchen acceptable. Extremely greasy with little black particles on the chicken tender. That means the fryer is way over due for a cleaning and fryer oil change. The plate of beans had a hard, miniature mountain high, it was old and hard. The hard shell taco was suppose to be hard and it was soggy with fryer oil. It was only edible for wildlife and stray cats and dogs. Besides the food, the waitresses had a very positive attitude for the stressful job at hand.
I'm sorry that I can't recommend this place. Think I've been here twice and never again. It's super crowded, not a pleasant ambience, cheese tastes very processed and just plain bad food. Seems like they have a regular bar clientele, but I don't even remember the margaritas being good. Maybe they were so strong that I can't remember?! Maybe that is why they are still in business. I never plan to go back unless there is a new owner.
