Contribute FeedbackAfter having read a raving review calling this place (and the fried perch) “Magical”, we tried multiple times to reserve a table… to no avail. Always fully booked; lunch and dinner alike. So when luck was finally on our side, expectations were high. Whilst the welcome was cordial and the location genuinely idyllic – right by the water and next to the owner’s fishing boat – the establishment itself looks rundown and is in desperate need of a makeover. Mind you, this is not a typical restaurant, but rather a simple fisherman’s shack with a kitchen and a few tables in front. But just the same, it all looks pretty shabby and not very orderly. Moreover, eating while the resident cat licks clean the dirty dishes on the kitchen counter – and then jumps on your table to taste the (delicious) ice cream – is not at all appetizing. Verdict: Been there and done that, but “magical” it was not!
We spent the morning doing what no sane person does on a Saturday: visiting Ikea. Following that, this is just the place to unwind: quiet, fabulous view and excellent value for money. Mousse of smoked Fera, tiny fried perch and chips washed down with the local white from Chateau de Vufflens. To beguile us further a swan was nesting right in front of the window. After that, a quick visit to the Tulip festival in Morges What more can you ask?
This tiny restaurant right on the water's edge near the port is in a fishing shack. It only has about five tables. The menu and wine list are very limited. The family who run it are fishermen and have a small shop at the back where you can buy Mousse de Féra fume (smoked Mousse of Féra), Terrine de brochet (Pike Terrine) and Féra fumée à froid (Féra cold smoked). Also fresh fish depending what they caught. The menu is one dish Friture de Perches, (Fried small Perch) with Fries and Salad. Local artisanal ice cream and sorbet is available as desert. This location is only for people who like simple uncomplicated lunches. It is not smart and the views are fabulous. The wine list consists or White, Rosé and Red from Chateau de Vufflens just up the road: reasonably priced We have now been there three times and love it. The last time, (May 12) three of us had food, three half bottles of wine, ice cream and coffee for CHF150. Parking is available close by as are clean public loos. Strongly suggest you book before going.
