Taberna - La Verne
Taberna
Description
Amid string lights and fire pits, this tapas‑identified spot charms with a spacious heated patio, cold drinks, and community-minded touches — dog-friendly policies and optional nonprofit tips — but service is hit-or-miss: understaffing, spilled drinks, billing errors and occasional rudeness tarnish otherwise tasty plates. Management has resolved mix-ups promptly for some, and the menu yields crowd-pleasers like enchiladas, nachos and avocado toast; expect a convivial atmosphere but variable hospitality.

They are really friendly, willing to recommend a wine after learning about your preferences, have good wine/food, and allowed my dog in. I highly recommend. Also, they have an optional tip for a local non profit that supports community programs. Iappreciate this, shows they care about the community around them. I recommend stopping in!
If I could give less stars I would. I had a bad experience last time I went but decided to give them another try. Sadly, still over-priced for terrible service, food drinks. They even screwed up our bill and tried to charge more. The icing on the cakewas when they couldn't properly break a $20 for a cash tip so I was forced to leave double what I should have left.
The bar has a nice atmosphere, but the service leaves much to be desired. My drink was accidentally spilled by the waitress, and to make matters worse, I was rudely stopped from using the restroom by an employee wearing a black shirt and short hair. If you're near Pomona University, I recommend staying away from this establishment with its unprepared staff.
I went to catch up with some high school friends for a reunion after over 15 years, even driving down from Canada for the occasion. There was a mix-up with the food, but the manager addressed the issue promptly and professionally. I was very pleased with how she handled it, and I would definitely return.
