The Food is AmazingMy reason for one star is that I told our Waiter I'm Highly Allergic to Avocado ? and although it was taken out, my food was Placed on the same Plate. View all feedback.

Very nice place, great sushi and some special dishes (shots specials). the tempura was excellent, the shota spicy halibut was a really great experience. I came to an earlier time and the place was empty, the personal attention provided by the owner, unfortunately like many other restaurants, personal is limited to a few, usually the owner and the sushi cook(s). I recommend this place very much!
We tried this new sushi place in the city. the personal is really friendly and willing to give recommendations. we tried 3 different rolls and all were good. the tempura is generously dimensioned. our party has split into the taste. the half liked it and the other half just said ok. overall this is a nice new supplement to the sushi scene and we go back. the decor is fresh and contemporary, but warm and welcoming.
Ordered 2 tempura mix and they were great. Coated perfectly but the sauce mixture didn’t taste like any other tempura sauce I’ve had. I also ordered a TNT roll. I did get it to go so it was in a foam to go box. Inside it has deep fried eel, avocado and albacore tuna. Outside it had spicy scallop, masago and green onion with unagi and spicy Mayo. From the picture on yelp, it didn’t look anything like it. It came with 5 pieces. It was also plated in such an awkward way, pieces randomly scattered and sauce on the foam plate like it was dropped there and then moved. The whole thing was deep fried and had some white jelly like substance on top, I’m assuming it is the scallops but it was more like crystal boba than scallops. I had 2 and then in the 3rd one, I found a fish bone. I bit into it and luckily didn’t swallow it before finding the bone. Spit it out and saw a bone nearly an inch big. First time here and it was empty when we went in, shoulda been an indicator that it’s not the greatest. Probably won’t be returning back after this first experience.
We recently moved back to the area and wanted to give Shota Sushi a try. We've now been there twice: once for takeout and once for dine-in. Both times the food was very good. The table service was excellent. The server was extremely friendly and helpful and came back often to check on us, refill our drinks, etc.By the way, the sashimi salad was tasty, large, and had a nice, light dressing.
