We took the whole place, 58 of us. Monday night. Four courses of French food, Carmenere white and red wine. Home made pâté, meat and dauphinois potatoes, Brie, apple tart. Alberto the accordeon player. Our guitarist. French music and Russian. I hired a bagpiper. A great party. What a blast View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Chez Jack:
We went there for a business dinner, and I could not eat because the food was so horrible! We ordered a few appetizers and main courses. The pate was horrible to the point where any supermarket pate would have been better, in general the food tasted greasy and seemed like it had been thawed and cooked in a microwave. Horrible dining experience. Will NEVER go back!!The only positive: the live music. View all feedback.

As a Swiss cook who participated in the culinary school in Paris, I hunted a few French convenience foods and went to Chez Jack for all great reviews. The decor is sweet and cozy, you hear cheerful French music in the background. You start... with baguette and butter... the baguette is supermarket quality, but okay. I had ordered Coquille St. Jacques, who is a very well-known French court: if you google, you will see that this is a scallop dish. The name itself is the name of a scallop. To my big surprise I got a scallop shell, but no scallop. Instead, the bowl was filled with small shrimp and surimi (like crab I absolutely hate) in a sauce, baked with cheese. I had ordered steak with mustard sauce for the main course. The steak was okay, it came medium as I had requested, but it was very underseasoned. The main problem for me was the sauce: sauces are sacred in French cuisine. A must sauce is a fast sauce, where you can simply stir the pan with stick and in cream/mustard... then cook until thickened and add some fresh herbs (e.g. thyme). The sauce I got from Chez Jack is hard to describe, I think it had a Roux base (butter/flour as for a Béchamel). It tasted very mild, and I could hardly see a must. Steak comes with rice, vegetables and fries: I really liked the Veggies and would rather choose my pages instead of getting everything. I pay almost COP 100k for the starter who should not be the steak with the strange sauce and a juice. As a reference you can eat in Paris for less than lunch (it is called Formule midi and could EUR 12,50-15.00). If you calculate these prices in Bogotá, you must deliver. For me one of the most disappointing meals in 1.5 years in Colombia.
I knwe the resaturant by recomendation... amazing intimate bistro enviroment, with beautifull decoration provided by costumers. The restaurant is owned by three French Brothers, who mades only family recipes really well made. I eat one Entrecote with blue cheese that was superbe, besides that, tipical...french music provided by a professional guy. If you like french cousine, it is a Must go in Bogota
