The staff members are courteous and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. Although it has an upscale vibe, the environment remains cozy. The food was excellent, and with a group of 12, everyone left satisfied with their meals. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the seafood was delightful. For vegetarian diners, there are several appealing options for appetizers and small plates. I highly recommend the roasted squash entrée!

However, the warm greeting from our server Hallie B. and the delightful craft cocktails ($15) quickly set us at ease. We took our time choosing from the extensive menu, which featured notable Southern-inspired dishes, and settled on two classic appetizers: hush puppies ($16) and fried green tomatoes ($16). Both were delicious and served in generous portions, leaving us with some leftovers to take home. The appetizers were so satisfying that my dining partner decided to order a Caesar salad ($12) as her main course, which she thoroughly enjoyed — a true testament to the kitchen’s meticulous attention to detail. I found myself tempted by several entrees, including the Fork’s unique take on cassoulet featuring three types of local pork. Ultimately, Hallie’s informed recommendation led me to choose the most expensive item on the menu: the dry-aged local grass-fed beef steak ($48). It was a success — cooked rare as I requested, it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I doubt any high-end steakhouse could serve a better cut, even at a higher price. We paired our meal with a bold California red wine ($56) named The Pessimist, which complemented the steak perfectly and left us with more leftovers. To end our delightful dinner at The Fork, we opted for a Southern classic: key lime pie ($12). It was superb, featuring a fantastic graham cracker crust — I can hardly believe there could be a better slice within a 500-mile radius. Throughout our enchanting evening, Hallie was a standout. She embodied everything we appreciate in a server: personable, knowledgeable, and informative without being overbearing. In short, a true professional. It was unfortunate that she was only a guest server from The Fork’s Bellingham location. Living in the Seattle area, we typically visit La Conner a couple of times a year. Going forward, The Fork at Skagit Bay will be our go-to choice for dinner.
