The bar looked half filled with some peopl... read more The best cocktails we had in Kyoto were from Bar Blooming. We came as a group of 4 and sat at one of the open tables. The bar looked half filled with some people sitting at the counter and a few other groups at the tables around us. We got a menu and ordered from the bartender who did not speak English, but we were able to Google translate and point out the cocktails from the menu. Luckily there are pictures of each drink so you can get an idea of what it is as well. Unfortunately, I don't remember what we ordered because we came in November 2024, but hopefully my picture can give a good idea. We all loved the drinks we got, very flavorful and complex. The only downside to this bar in my opinion is the amount of people smoking. This is not a non-smoking bar, so almost everyone in there except for our party was smoking and in this small space with not much ventilation, the air feels heavy and nauseating. We would have ordered another round of drinks, but some of our group were starting to get a headache from the smoke. Just keep in mind if you plan on coming here is you may encounter cigarette smoke which is a part of Japanese culture. I would still come back though.
