We had our family Christmas dinner here. We had a 3 course dinner for $45 with a range of dishes to choose from for entree, main and dessert. The food was excellent, I had a pork and turkey ragu vol au vont for entree, toast pork and turkey with vegetables for main and a chocolate and almond tart for dessert. All three courses were served promptly and were very well executed. They have an extensive wine list as well.... View all feedback.
What Munching With Mel doesn't like about Galli:
Overall: 3 Overall delicious banquet of food. Flavour on some food were either lacking or too strong. Presentation could be better. Steak was dry and flavourless. Best from the banquet were the prawns and fried fish which were juicy and tender. Food: 2 Value: 3 Ambience: 3.5 Service: 3.5 View all feedback.
I’ve been to this restaurant many times and have never had any issues with the food. A recent visit changed that unfortunately. Two meals were ordered, a scotch fillet with salad and fries and Bangers and mash. Both dishes were disappointing. The steak was dry in most parts and difficult to cut, not sure weather this was due to the quality of the steak or possibly a blunt steak knife. Placing a large, round scotch fillet steak on a rectangular plate had me scratching my head. The sausages served on the other dish were filled with gristle, both dishes were only half eaten. The staff and manager are really lovely however the manager needs to reassess the food quality and cooking staff. Apart from that the venue is clean and inviting, surrounded by beautiful views.
Thank you staff at The Galli restaurant....Rebecca and Caitlin made my daughters 21st a night to remember great food and couldnt have asked for better hosts....thanks girls you one in a million :)Joanne and Megan
Food is mediocre. It's somewhat reasonable for the price. What I did not tolerate was the lady who was running the floor staff in the restaurant and unfortunately was in charge of our table. She seemed to be very discriminating towards coloured people. I felt the vibe and their implications that I wasn't welcome. I do not recommend this place if that's how the staff behave.
We celebrated our family Christmas dinner at this restaurant. They offered a three-course meal for $45, with a wide selection of dishes available for the appetizer, main course, and dessert. The food was exceptional. I had a pork and turkey ragu vol-au-vent as my appetizer, followed by roasted pork and turkey with vegetables for the main course, and finished with a delicious chocolate and almond tart for dessert. All three courses were served quickly and were expertly prepared. They also have an extensive wine list. I'm looking forward to returning to try more dishes in the future.
My family and I recently celebrated my brother's birthday at a charming winery located on the outskirts of Melbourne's western suburbs, and what a delightful experience it turned out to be. For just $35, we were treated to a three-course meal, along with a drink or wine—an offer that was impossible to resist! I kicked off my meal with an entree of penne pasta, followed by Mediterranean chicken for my main course. The chicken was cooked to perfection—juicy and flavorful. I closed out the meal with a decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. In terms of the food quality, I would say it was quite good—not extraordinary, but absolutely worth the price we paid. The service was another highlight of our visit. The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were attentive to my lactose intolerance, ensuring all three of my dishes were adapted accordingly. Overall, dining at Galli was a positive experience. It’s a great spot for a casual family meal, especially if you’re not overly concerned with high-end dining. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between the charm of a winery and the comfort of home-cooked meals. Plus, if you're on the lookout for a fantastic deal, this place delivers excellent value for your money. A special shout-out to the wonderful ambiance and breathtaking views of the winery. I highly recommend dining around sunset for a truly stunning backdrop to enhance your meal! **Food: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 3.5/5**
