Mckeown - Kumasi
Mckeown
Description
A polished restaurant serving Ghanaian and international dishes, praised for high-quality flavors and a welcoming, uncrowded atmosphere. Standout items like fufu are well prepared, but fixed prices and relatively high costs may deter budget diners. Service is solid though sometimes understated, and small issues—slightly salty soup and an isolated pest sighting—were reported. Note there’s no alcohol service and limited protein-customization typical of chop-bar dining. Overall a dependable choice for travelers and locals seeking refined local cuisine.

It's a nice restaurant, but the local cuisine tends to be on the pricey side. You can expect to spend at least GHC 125 for two people, not including drinks. The wait staff was okay, although I noticed six of them casually standing by the door. But then again, that's just how it is in Ghana.
The soup was slightly salty, but the atmosphere and service were excellent. If the saltiness could be toned down and customers had the option to add more if desired, I would definitely rate it 5 stars.
This restaurant is an excellent choice that features a diverse selection of distinctive local and international dishes. The food is delectable, and numerous patrons vouch for the high quality of their meals.
As a fan of Ghanaian cuisine, I find the prices for local dishes to be quite high. While I'm sure the food and service are excellent, the prices were a bit off-putting for me. Since local ingredients are used, I don't quite understand the reasoning behind the elevated prices.
I’m glad I followed a friend to try fufu. I typically prefer a chop bar for fufu in Kumasi, but this place was just as good. The soup was hot, and the overall service was satisfactory. The only thing I missed was the option to mix different proteins like you can at typical chop bars. Additionally, the prices are fixed, which may not be very wallet-friendly for the average diner.
