Matsya – The saraswat seafood restaurant, Goregao (West) My Recommendations- •Solkadhi •Bobshi Koshimbir •Prawns Tawa Masala •Bangada Triphala Ghashi •Crab Sukke •Caramel Custard Location- Located in kind of famous area of suburbs known as bangur nagar. Easily accessible on M.G. road and off link road in Goregao (W). (4/5) Theme- Got a powerful concept as they are the only restaurant who serves Saraswat (Western coast of India) food in Mumbai I guess. (4.5/5) Ambience- Certainly a bright and positive feel you get once you enter. Dining area can accommodate good number of covers. Seating is comfortable enough with couches and chairs. Walls got few of the vintage picture frames which go very well with the theme of the restaurant. Bright lighting is really what I liked. When it comes to restaurants of these kind, interiors hardly matters because it’s always about food why we choose the place. (4/5) Food- As we know Indian cuisine is so vast and really detailed. Food of saraswat community is really kind of unsaid or never came in popularity I feel. This community always believed that seafood is their vegetables. They are not much into eating of land based animals so the love for the seafood is really at high level. Though this cuisine is influenced by Konkani and south Indian cuisine they have their own identity too. This restaurant have really brought the saraswat cuisine live. Dishes made with lot of coconut tamarind can be seen in the menu. Portion size and different unexplored taste of the food is what made my meal really special and impressive. (4.5/5) To sum up- Quality and quantity of the food which was served was really at highest level. We never tend to explore new cuisine but Matsya really got impressing food for you. Freshly cached fish and traditional recipes is what they have concentrated and already we saw the result of it. Do try out this restaurant and I am sure you will enjoy this untouched saraswat cuisine. For sure I will be one of the regular guests of Matsya now onwards. Strongly recommended, do visit them.

The food was just wow!!! We ordered Rawas rava fry which was fresh, Bangda pedawan (a must try), Mori sukka, prawns aambat. The dudoli in dessert part was nostalgic. in all a great find.
Excellent seafood place. Saraswat cuisine is its specialty. Hence all dishes marked as a Saraswat Specialty is a must try. Seafood soup is excellent so is the Kanne fish fry. Triphala seems to be an essential ingredient of Saraswat Cuisine and lends an unique flavor to the dishes. Cost wise its not too expensive and average cost of dish is in the range of Rs 300 Ambience is good. It strives to create an aura of coastal Karnataka and manages to land a touch of warmth and hospitality
