Bear in mind, that the queue might be quiet long, as it is so popular.On the 'normal' time of the year, you can visit it for very good food and of course Kölsch - the typical beer from Cologne.They have a daily menu and a menu with German traditional food like Schnitzel and Leberkäse, but as well salads.After dinner, don't forget to try one (or two) Kabänes - herbal liqueur from Köln - to finish the evening perfect.The staff is always friendly and up for a joke, to complete your dinner with a good story.You can as well go for a nice walk on the Rhine after dinner and enjoy the nice promenade.So guys: Enjoy the Mainzer Hof and Köln!

There... read more We ate at Mainzer Hof during our recent trip to Cologne. The restaurant is located in the southern part of the city, just south of the Ubierring station. There was a full list of daily specials in addition to the regular menu. We had the pork roast (schweinbraten), potato pancakes (kartoffelblinis), italian bratwurst, and a dried tomato and pesto pasta dish. The italian bratwurst was especially good and had a great flavor. With drinks and beers, the total was 50E. The staff were efficient and friendly.
