We have traveled extensiv... read more Our experience at maiBeck was a disappointment. Nothing about our visit would suggest this restaurant deserves a Michelin star rating. We have traveled extensively throughout the world and visited some of the finest Michelin starred restaurants. maiBeck is not in the same classification as other, more worthy restaurants. The ambiance at maiBeck was poor. It operates from an understated, industrial setting which has extremely poor acoustics. Loud groups make it challenging to hear the conversation at one's own table. While our appetizer was fine (though not Michelin star quality), our main courses were all a disappointment. The service was definitely not Michelin star standard. We were left to fill our own water glasses, food debris was left on the table between courses, and a couple of requests had to be repeated before the servers handled them. We left maiBeck uncertain why it once earned a Michelin star. If local patrons feel this is a quality dining experience, they need to travel more to experience what a Michelin quality restaurant should offer.
