Sitting outside, with a pal, a beer and cheese toastie sandwich after a movie at the Metropolis ... what could be more pleasurable on a warm evening? All changed after a street Accordion player (quite melodic actually was physically accosted by the owner/manager(? and told to push off .... after which he turned his wrath onto his own customers and berated them for offering a few coins to the poor wretch. My low service rating has nothing to do with the very charming lady who waited on the tables with an apologetic smile (yeah, we all know he 's a bit difficult!

This is a typical locals pub with nice decor and furnishings,there's big screens to enjoy the Bundesliga and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and especially outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around this wonderful pub. We were here on a Wednesday night and this place was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere ,we got a couple of Gaffel Kölsch beers and just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. The beer was really good,I enjoy the various Kölsch beers available throughout Cologne and Gaffel Kölsch is probably one of my favourites. We ended up staying here for a couple of beers each before we moved on and for a first time visit we were very impressed with the great pub. Lapidarium is really easy to locate,jump the Ubahn or tram number 12.15.16.18 to stop Ebertplatz and walk down Turinerstaße and cut onto Greesbergstraße were you cut onto Eigelstein were you will find this pub. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,open from 5pm till 2am A great pub and well worth checking out.
