Merece visita.

I lived in Cologne 22 years and miss it very much. If you're spending one single day in Cologne I recommend you start from downtown. Cologne's name, Colonia, comes from the fact that it was a colony of the Roman empire. Downtown you can find the wonderful Ludwig Museum and the German-Roman museum, both are worth viditing. If you are a music lover, be sure to book your ticket at the gorgeius Philharmonie, which is also downtown where you might want a delicious draft beer and some chips at the very well known and traditional Früh. If you are a jazz fan, check out the incredible WDR BIG BAND's schedule on their website. Leading down to the Rhine River from the Philharmonie, you will find to your right hand side a series of typical old houses from the 17th century, very cute! It is possible to stay in one of those houses, in small hotels. I do recommend you not to be lazy and go along way for promenade in the Rhine it is really beautiful twin you're tired you can just stop and step into one of those lovely boats-bars and get a glas of wine!Thete is so much to be said but downtown Köln is already a good start! Enjoy!
