I think the waitresses are not very friendly. It took me ages before they take our order, furthermore, when finally one of the waitresses came, she said ‘you need to be a little bit more patient’ in a very scolding way. It was kinda awkward and embarrassing… Food was okay, don’t worth spend 20 euro tho.

Food was delicious and we had a wonderful view of the Cathedral in our seats within the cafe's large glass atrium.

At the end of our Cologne day we went to Café Reichard. It lies directly opposite the main entrance of the Cologne Cathedral. The outdoor terrace overlooks the towers of the cathedral. In passing, I discovered a table on the edge, with a free view of the cathedral. When entering the terrace, I drove directly to it. The place could not be better. We studied the cards on the table. In the situation, it was a bit more expensive, we had not expected otherwise. Only at the prices for the ice cups we put our ears on. You were too ambitious. In the map the house speciality, ice splinters were offered. She was ordered to have a cup of coffee for my companion and a milk coffee for me. After some time we received the delicacies. The ice splinters kept what they promised, just delicious. The coffee was tidy. We enjoyed the view of the cathedral and the drive ahead. The service was friendly, only we had to wait. It was very full, she had good work to do. We were on vacation, not on the run. So we didn't bother the waiting time. At the end of the visit we entered the place. Furnished with rhinestones on ceilings and walls. I'm sure it's fine here. A staircase went down to the toilets in the basement. At the bottom, we were kindly greeted by a toilet lady. Before her a plate, she expected an obolus. There was a lot to do! The cabins of the ladies' toilets were separated from each other by milky Plexiglas discs. The doors of the cabins were clear as long as they were not occupied. Later, I entered a cabin and locked the door. Immediately the glass pane became milky, no one could see more from the inside or outside. When I unlocked the door when I left the cabin, the window was immediately cleared. My companion said on the men's toilet hanging over the PP basin screens on which fish swam. We recommend a visit to Café Reichard, including the toilets :

What should have been the cherry atop a very nice visit to the Dom area of Cologne ended up on a sour note. We were there for some warm beverages and...

It's expensive for what you get. A duck salad cost me 23EUR and it was basically a plate of a few slices of duck with the fat not rendered, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and chicory. Our waitress was lovely but the one I asked directions to the restrooms of was hardly helpful. I think they charge more for the view than anything.
