Good tapas with French cuisine. Tried varied dishes that were all good. Fine selection of wine from both France and Germany. The first waiter was friendly and attentive but unfortunately the second waiter seemed more interested in her phone and forgot our order. Food and...atmosphere would be 4 stars but the second waitress drags down the overall grade. View all feedback.
True, hard to get a table if you have not made reservation,- and tables are small, little narrow,- but what the heck,- food is excellent! You should order maybe four, max five little plates, like mezze in Greece or tapas in Spain. So lets say four people order 16 plates,- it is like having best food from all over France, just keep on trying,- and for sure everybody will be happy and full!
Usually, people see tapas as something typically spanish. french food is in itself very well suited to be served in small servings - and this is what the bagatelle exceeds expectations in. our party of four shared 17 different dishes and we were happy about each and every one of them. kudos to the kitchen especially for the lamb chops, the rabbit liver in the butteriest cognac sauce ever, the aioli and the salad niçoise. the amuse bouche consisted of chopped tomatoes, tapenade and fantastic bread.everything, including the wide choice of beverages, was priced reasonably, all staff members were attentive and really friendly. and while waiting for tapas seems to be problematic for several reviewers here, i have to disagree: the food trickles in steadily and the pace is perfect to mix and share. just as it should be.
This cafe/resto with terrace is worth a visit. The weather was great and the terrace full. We had to go inside where the action is. Small cosy tables and a ditto interior. The menu is attempting. We started ordering 8 dishes and a bottle of wine. All dishes tasted great, you cannot go wrong. For dessert we ordered 4 more dishes (2 each, yeah yeah I know). A lovely place with couples, families with children and so on. Bookmark this one. No cards accepted but this is Germany.
An easy choice in Cologne with very good french tapas to share with friends, lover, colleagues, family!
Leckere kleine Gerichte, der Service wirkte manchmal etwas konfus . Trotzdem freundliche Reaktion auf kleine Reklamation. Unbedingt empfehlenswert.
