Unique sandwiches, fresh, tasty soups and delicious cookies!! Wish we had found it earlier o we could have eaten there more than once.
We visited the Java Flats outside of town (near the Russian River while doing a wildlife tour. Used the drive-through. The service was friendly and fast! Very tasty sandwiches served in a cardboard box (eco-friendly! . Highly recommend.
While out driving around came across this place, would have loved to go in but due to the current situation it was drive through only. They have the best homemade cookies, definetly worth the stop! Great coffees as well.
If you are looking for awesome sandwiches, great coffee, killer soup or GIANT cookies this is the place to go! Alicia and her team are super friendly and the place is busy but always inviting. I visited a breakfast/lunch cafe where you had to order at the side window or through your phone as they did not have indoor dining. While waiting on their porch, we enjoyed delicious sandwiches, great coffee, and giant cookies. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with Deviled Eggs.

Great food and atmosphere! the sandwiches are delicious, but if they don't want a whole meal, they can have a huge cookie for a buck that is sure to meet that.
Easy, handy, the best eat on the island. (or at least the road system that is like grandmas house when your oma was a first-class baker and also.
Java flats was down my favorite restaurant while living on the island! not much of a coffee drinker, it was a delicious bite with a lot of hot tee options to choose from. Whether you want to catch yourself up for a huge delicious biscuit or one of the amazing croissant sandwiches, a trip to java flats was always a tasty bite. more than two years ago I moved away from the island, and I still think of the amazing space that alicia created with so many wonderful memories. 10/10 would recommend!
Excellent eating large bagel sandwich and chips. and hot drinks. the cookies are good.

Java Flats is a café located in the neighborhood of Bell’s Flats south of the city of Kodiak. They offer typical things of an American coffee shop like coffee, tea, and smoothies, but also have a menu with food such as sandwiches, biscuits and yogurt. The outside decor is the best because it is very original.
