Description

Nestled in Duck, NC, this cozy café-bookstore hybrid offers a charming atmosphere perfect for browsing local books while sipping specialty coffees. Many praise their unique drinks like the coconut crunch coffee and seasonal lattes, paired with fresh pastries and a welcoming vibe. The café emphasizes community support and local economy, creating a warm, small-town feel. However, some visitors have noted inconsistent drink flavors and customer service struggles during busy times. Despite this, it remains a beloved spot for many families and travelers seeking a friendly, quaint coffee experience in the Outer Banks.

I have been frequenting Duck’s Cottage since their inception! I remember when they moved the Powder Ridge Hunt lodge from its original location and converted it into this very unique coffee/book boutique. Just today I was served by Jodi, Mandy, Lisa and a newer employee (name? who was also very sweet! Very cool location to read a book and chill with a coffee and scone!

I just visited this place recently while on a family vacation. I loved the atmosphere and the coffee. I had their iced pumpkin spiced latte. I would highly recommend visiting this cute cafe if you're visiting Duck, NC! If I ever come back to visit, I'll make sure to hit up this spot again!!

Super cute place. Came out of our way to visit, as we are staying KDH, but distance is an issue if the coffee is good. However, this missed the mark. Hubs and I both got the coconut cold brew. It was expensive for what it was $5.50 (we are from the DC area, which has a pleather of great coffee shops at a high price so we know expensive and this was higher than average) the coffee was overpowered by the syrup and the coffee tasted watered down with no significant taste of the coffee itself. It did not taste like a cold brew but coffee over ice cold coffee should be bold and dark roasted to handle the ice melt down. What a bummer maybe the regular hot coffee will hit the mark, if there’s a next time.
