Excellent food and attentive service . beautiful presentation. I was extremely pleased. I wish that the portions were slightly larger. I agree with previous reviews that said not show up hungry. I had the buratta salad, arctic char and the white chocolate mousse for dessert. the noise level was higher than ideal-had some difficulty hearing my friend who was across the table.Overall, very high level dining-will defi... What ShawS doesn't like about Argyles Restaurant:
It took an hour from the time of our reservation to getting bread on our table, it took 30 minutes before we can get our table. Another group of 8 who also had a reservation had to wait as long. I don’t this this restaurant takes the open table reservations to heart. The escargot was very good as well as the onion soup, crab cakes not as much View all feedback.
We were one of 2 tables in this special night. eating was good, not great. desserts were unnecessarily small and tasteless in a round. our waitress was very nice. probably not be back.
The service was very slow today and we sat next to a large and loud family. we have been here several times in the past, always happy with the meal. this time was a disappointment.
Personal friendly and efficient. the salates were very fresh and generous. burger we are great.

It was a very odd evening; fabulous food paired with uneven to poor service. We arrived for our 7:15 reservation to a half filled restaurant but were told by the hostess/bartender our table wasn’t ready. Finally we’re seated after 15 minutes. Not sure what the delay was about. Waited another 5-10 minutes for a waiter to appear, then close to 15 for drinks to appear. Ambiance was another issue; typical beachy decor was fine but several TVs placed throughout the restaurant played on old Jimmy Buffet concert on loop was just strange. Things did improve once food finally arrived. The crab dip calamari appetizers were both delicious although it was disappointing that the fried green tomatoes that were on the menu were no longer available. Most entrees were quite good although mashed potatoes served with crab cakes is a little odd. The ahi tuna, mahi mahi shrimp Daniel we’re all fabulous. Our waiter was friendly enough but had our table several on the opposite side of the restaurant. We finally had to ask another waitress for napkins; she ignored our request while busily setting empty tables. Weird.
