Short and sweet-- the schnitzel is the best in the area. Combined with the shopska salad it is over-the-top good. Chevaps and goulash soup are also tasty. This restaurant is a family favourite. The food never disappoints. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Veslo:
Went to pick up our food and all the staff were not wearing masks/shields/gloves. When questioned about it they had no response. All they wanted to do was give us a refund and move us on our way. Not impressed at all that they were...prepping food without proper protocols in place. View all feedback.
Veslo is a brilliant neighborhood restaurant that specializes in traditional Serbian and Balkan food. The food is simple and very delicious. I had the goulash soup, lepinja bread with cheese, and Vienna schnitzel all were excellent. I recommend the lepinja bread and I would say the schnitzel is the best in town, unseating some of my long standing favorites.Dining in is low key and comfortable. Outdoor seating is available on a covered patio. Service is prompt and courteous.Easy parking.
Love love love this place. Years ago I lived in kw and remembered loving Veslos. Went back on a recent trip and it was every bit amazing as I remembered. Delicious, handmade foods for a reasonable price... only wish there was one where I live now !!
I will agree that the restaurant is quaint. It seems to me that your reviews are hand selected as there is not one negative comment.I was there for a Birthday Dinner on Aug 2/23 and it was the worst of the worst. The Schitzel was not hot and seemed like it was not freshly made. Potatos were luke warm and salad coleslaw was over salted. The only good thing was we received a 10% discount as we paid by cash.I will never visit your establishment again nor recommend.
An authentic European dining experience awaits at this charming neighborhood restaurant, slightly hidden but definitely worth seeking out. It appears to have been a converted house which adds to its cozy charm. I started off with a delicious Shopska salad and a refreshing 500ml Polish beer before indulging in a generous schnitzel dinner. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was both polite and efficient. The meal was fantastic and reasonably priced, providing a stark contrast to the generic chain restaurants like Montanas and East Side Mario's. Family-owned gems like Veslo truly deserve our support.
I discovered this hidden gem on Yelp, attracted by the rave reviews and intrigued by the lively German community in Kitchener and Waterloo. My boyfriend and I decided to try the Platter for Two to sample a variety of dishes, and we were blown away by how delicious everything was. The potatoes were perfectly cooked - soft and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. The sauerkraut was flavorful and crunchy, not too sour. The standout dish was the schnitzel - not greasy and incredibly tender. Every item on the platter was tasty. The family who runs the restaurant were friendly and welcoming. A must-visit! *Congratulations on your wedding, as mentioned on the door signage.
