We have been going to the Fish Hut for a number of years and it has always been really consistently good. unfortunately when I picked up our haddock meal and brought it home (we live approximately 5 minutes away) the fries were under cooked and the fish was cold and mushy!!!Very disappointing!
I have been eating here for close to twenty years. This has to be the best fish and chips in town. I've heard good things about Sonny's in Waterloo but haven't gone yet, because why would I when this place is here? Perfect crunch and thickness on the batter - not bready or any grassier than it should be. Halibut, haddock, cod, white fish - I've tried and loved them all. And the prices are reasonable! Their poutine is also exemplary. I highly recommend this restaurant.
It's a small place to eat in but there is tables and a few booths. Well we ordered the 2 piece halibut and chips and when we got them didn't seem long the chips were fresh cut i thought great! and the fish non greasy and amazing thick pieces of heaven it was that good! So all and all great place to go for fish and as far as fish and chips go i thought this place was cheaper then all the other places I've been in the region! And Better!
The fries are perfectly unsalted, which is great because the gravy is delicious and complements them wonderfully!
