What User doesn't like about The Flying Bear:
I saw the chef who does what I can only describe as someone who stabbed in their hands. I understand that no gloves are better for food safety, but it was a little frightening to watch the cooking finger, their speck and egg roll intimate. Do not really think that it is wise to put their fingers over eating while a large amount of customers are looking up. View all feedback.
Great coffee , fast and really friendly staff. Just a bit muddy when it rains .
Had a family birthday brunch at the bird bear on Good Friday before heading to Luna Park. Beautiful morning out on the balcony. Food service terrific nothing was a problem. The wait staff were very welcoming very efficient. Congrats to the chef. Really yummy food. We’ll definitely be back.

A little corner of heaven, sitting at the water's edge overlooking the glistening harbour. Top venue, ambience, food and service. Delicious fish tacos, green salad, pita pocket and chicken sourdough sandwich. So relaxing! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Firstly, there are no reservations taken, so it’s lord of the flies once a table leaves to secure a seat. This means that you sit down at tables with plates, food scraps, crumbs and napkins all over them, and they are never quite clean. Eventually the (very overworked) staff will pick them up. I felt bad for them, as they were absolutely smashed and understaffed. The location is first class but the cafe is all a bit worn and grubby tbh. People are waiting for an opportunity to sit, eyeing off your empty plates can’t think of a less relaxing atmosphere for breakfast. On top of that , the food was average at best, choices standard (avocado, bacon, eggs, sourdough, yawn), the chicken pie was on the verge of inedible without tomato sauce, probably 50% veges. Other items that came out took ages, and were mostly quite plain. The hot chocolate was basically shot glass sized and caused a bit of mirth amongst us.
