I had a wonderfully peaceful experience at The Grange. The bed was incredibly cozy and I could have easily spent the whole day sleeping in it. The entire place was impeccably clean. The breakfast room was furnished with stunning pieces. Kate, the host, was incredibly helpful. She prepared a delicious breakfast and brewed a fantastic pot of tea. I arrived early for a funeral at the nearby beautiful old church, and Kate graciously allowed me to relax in the lounge until it was time to leave. I highly recommend The Grange.
Please note that there is no longer a restaurant within this pub. The owners have tried serving different types of food but were unable to sustain it. The pub itself is in need of a refurbishment, with mismatched cushions on the seats, cobwebs, and a dirty radiator in the disabled toilet. The entrance, particularly from the car park, also has cobwebs. What used to be a busy pub on Friday nights for the music quiz now only attracts a dozen or so people. The landlord does not advertise when there is live music on weekends, leading to a decline in customers. It is unfortunate to see this once thriving restaurant and pub heading towards closure, which is a loss for the village. The pub does have a lovely function room above it, and it would be a shame to see it go.
On the night of the party, all the dishes came out fresh, hot, and delicious. Despite our large group, the service was excellent and the owner was very accommodating. Everyone had a wonderful time and I will definitely return to try the a la carte menu with my family in the future.
Went to my friends 60th, had a lovely Indian meal. Live music in pub to follow great night. Best of both worlds eating and entertainment, under one roof would recomend a bust.
