We have been to many of these themed evenings and have enjoyed every one of the... read more A few times a year Blend opens on a Saturday evening for a gourmet food evening. We have been to many of these themed evenings and have enjoyed every one of them. Last night was no exception. The Yorkshire Bistro Evening was a foodie heaven. Great choices including for Starters Smoked Whitby fish pate, and my choice a delicious Pigeon Breast from the Swinton Estate. For my main course I chose the Belly Pork which came with a black pudding mash and a wonderful mild mustard sauce. My wife had the North Sea Hake, delicious. The Bistro was fully booked and no wonder. The food served up was first class. I highly recommend these evenings for anyone who enjoys good tasty food at a sensible price. Last night was even more memorable as the owners and staff had completed their Christmas decorations to give a very warm and seasonal atmosphere. Of course these can be seen every day as the café is open Monday to Saturday throughout the week with one of the best menu choices I know for a café/bar of this size.
