What Anonym dislikes about Glendale:
The food was delicious, but the service was slow and not very polite. Shelby at the front desk did not say please or thank you once we paid our bill, which was quite disappointing considering the amount we spent. The restaurant's atmosphere was lacking. Overall, the food was good but there were some issues with the service. View all feedback.

We used a voucher we received from our wedding for a three-course meal with wine. The service was friendly and efficient. Our starters of garlic mushrooms and Stilton and broccoli soup were delicious. For the main course, we both chose the beef with a tasty red wine gravy. We requested a break before dessert and were pleasantly surprised with a selection of cheese and biscuits as well as New York cheesecake. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and I would definitely consider coming back for either an evening meal, which would have cost £35 per person for three courses, or for Sunday lunch.

Nice bright dining room with excellent service, but the food is the star of the show. From start to finish, complex combinations of flavour (eg. starter of pigeon with a tarragon apple dressing, pickled baby beets, fig relish and crumbled walnut) were all superbly cooked...and delicious. Superb cooking at prices we couldn't believe for such high quality dining for my three courses). Find an excuse to go if you live anywhere near.

As per my previous reviews, we periodically visit The Glendale and love it. I feel it's only right to continue to post reviews to demonstrate the consistency of both the overall experience and quality of food. Yesterday evening we were looked after by Paul, who...was polite and attentive throughout. After a drink at the bar we made our way through to the restaurant. For starters we had the pigeon with crispy bhaji and the garlic mushrooms. Both were excellent; the pigeon, in particular, is always perfectly cooked whenever we come here. For mains we had the pork belly with black pudding and mash, and the chicken with potato gnocchi. Again, both excellently cooked and constructed with perfect flavour combinations. As usual, I'll end the review by saying we'll definitely be returning!

We were seated by the window overlooking the lovely grounds. Elizabeth was our server with a smile and she was most attentive most of the time. We shared a tasty crab starter followed by sea bass and duck respectively. The meals were sumptuous as we've...come to expect in this delightful, elegant restaurant. We look forward to our next visit in the near future.
