Description

Whitley's Garden Centre is a popular spot, especially during the festive season, attracting visitors for both its charming decorations and café offerings. The café experience, however, has been a mixed bag. While the afternoon tea received rave reviews for its fresh sandwiches and friendly service, many patrons reported issues with disorganization, rude staff, and disappointing food quality including lukewarm breakfasts and poor coffee. Price points have also raised eyebrows, leaving some diners feeling underwhelmed. Despite these inconsistencies, generous portions and helpful staff have won over many, ensuring that Whitley's remains a popular choice for special occasions.

I recently dined at Mirfield Garden Centre with friends for lunch and was quite disappointed with the menu. It was not as good as my previous visit. The menu looked more like something you would find at a pub, with no vegetables included in the main dishes. In the past, they had quiches, pies, and delicious vegetables available. I ended up choosing a wrap, which was decent but not the best option. I will be looking for other places to have lunch in the future.

We stopped in for lunch and ordered the ham salad sandwich platter and the chicken tikka sandwich platter, both with chips. Unfortunately, when we arrived, several empty tables had not been wiped down. The food itself was disappointing - the chips were overcooked and there were only a few on the plate. The sandwiches were more like half sandwiches with minimal filling - one slice of ham in mine and just a few pieces of chicken tikka in my partner's. For the price of around £8, we expected more. Overall, the food was very average and not worth the cost. It's best to avoid this restaurant.

By 1:20 PM, there was no beef left, we managed to get the remaining chicken, which was only bits. There was not much ham left, no pigs in blankets left despite paying extra for them, and no stuffing or cauliflower cheese left. The creamed potatoes were running out, even though they were supposed to be served until 3:00 PM. Overall, not a good experience.

We went with a large group for Afternoon Tea. Not something we would normally do but we really enjoyed it. Too much to eat there and then so took the surplus home in the boxes provided. Staff very friendly and helpful

Food mediocre and not hot enough. Rang day before to book a table. No record of the booking when we got there. Very noisy and annoying with chairs continually being scraped across the floor I won't be going again.
