Very disorganised and chaotic. Signage says coffee and cakes to the left, main meals to the right. Seems simple, but........ You have to order and pay for meals at the first till, then go to the second till to collect your hot drinks. Unfortunately at...the second till you have to join another queue with all those who just want coffee and cake??? When you eventually get to the second till, they have no idea what your hot drinks order is and you have to tell them, then stand there like a chocolate log while they make the drinks. Just to add insult to injury, the coffee was awful. Ordered an Americano and got pale brown see through water! Also ordered a BBQ chicken toasted sandwich, this was equally poor quality. sauce than chicken and squashed flat in the toaster. Bread and contents could not have been 10mm thick and wasn't very nice either. It appeared that many other customers were confused by the queue system too, and judging by the food left on plates their choice was equally disappointing. Come on folks, this isn't rocket science, get yourselves sorted out.
Lovely place and we’ve been coming for years but really disappointed on the last few visits for breakfast. I think as they leave it sat on the side whilst they put the stuff on the plate, by the time it gets to you it is...luke warm at best. I avoided the cooked breakfast today for that reason and ordered a toasted currant t-cake and that came toasted but flat cold so not sure how long it had been sitting waiting to be brought to the table. My partner got a breakfast and it was luke warm and the poached egg was hard. Just not worth the money. It’s such a shame as it’s a lovely place but they need to get the system working a little better
