Sue Downs Fish Chips

I have been to this chippy a few times over the years. My last visit was just okay, but this time I went with my colleagues for lunch. There weren't many people in the chippy at the time. The fish we ordered seemed a bit overcooked, which can sometimes be a good thing as it prevents them from being too greasy. However, we were not impressed with the chips as they were cold, then warmed up, and dry. The portion of fish was decent, but on the smaller side. Overall, I would rate the meal as average, with the fish being better than the chips. If I had to give it a rating out of ten, it would be a five at best.

I always order the fabulous skate at this restaurant. My partner always gets the large squid. The chips and sides are perfectly cooked. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

They will be on my last review as much as I liked this fishing store, but the service is just as slow. I have to go.

This shop serves very nice fish and chips, the fish is always skinned and in light batter. Served in a box. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

This restaurant consistently provides great food. The fish is fresh, flaky, and coated in a crisp golden batter. The portions of chips and gravy are generous and delicious. They even make their own special tartar sauce. The staff is always friendly, polite, and attentive. My only wish is that they would serve proper, thick gravy instead of the watery version that is common in most places nowadays. I prefer my own when dining out.
