New Garden - Kingston

I didn't find the food to be very fresh at this restaurant. It was my first visit and will probably be my last. The rice tasted a little off, the sauce was mixed in with the chicken balls making them soggy by the time I got home, the pork slices were dry and still cold in the middle, indicating they were likely reheated from frozen. The only item I enjoyed were the chicken wings.

I have eaten here for years and the food always hits the spot. The portions are generous and the menu has a lot of options. Great value for my money.Parking: Large parking lot

New Garden is a typical Canadian-Chinese restaurant. It is not authentic Chinese. It is operating takeout-only at the moment.The food tastes quite bland and the portion sizes are small for the prices. I would recommend going to Sunflower at Princess/Montreal instead, as they have better tasting food and double the portions for the price.The restaurant itself is a standalone building and looks a bit sketchy. The inside is very old-looking.Parking: Free gravel lot to the right of the restaurant

When this place is closed it is disappointing because no other Chinese restaurants compare to this one! The owner is wonderful and we are very impressed with the service! Good everytime we order no complaints

My boyfriend and I only order from this restaurant. I have never liked the man who answers the phone because he is one of the most rude individuals in customer service, but we love their food so we thought we could deal with that. However, tonight they lost our business. We placed an order for our usual, and when it arrived, we were missing some of our cold items. I called back to let them know, and the same very ignorant man answered the phone without even saying hello. When I explained that we were missing some of our order, his solution was to give us a credit for what we were missing without an apology. When I asked if that was all he could do, he responded in his regular rude and ignorant tone, "What else would you like me to do?" I have been in customer service my entire working life, and I always did whatever was necessary to rectify any errors and keep our customers. It seems like we will be finding a new Chinese food restaurant until they replace him. I have to give them 3 stars because their food is so good. Their customer service is terrible. I would love to speak to the owner.
