The customer service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. The male and female servers were rude and unwelcoming. We were not even greeted when we arrived, and when we mentioned that we were a party of 4 adults and 3 children, they looked appalled. Despite there being two free tables available, they quickly informed us that there was no room for us. We could see a double table about to be vacated by another family, but they still refused to accommodate us. They then told us that they were only serving coffee and cake, even though it was only 4pm and we only wanted drinks and cake. We were dismissed with the excuse of no space, and it was a mortifying and disgusting experience. We will never return to this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone.
During our holiday in Clare, we stumbled upon this cafe while browsing the shops. The coffee was delicious and the chocolate brownie was scrumptious. My wife enjoyed a tea and raspberry loaf that had just come out of the oven. We will definitely return when we are back in Ennis.
As per some other reviewers the pancakes in Cafe Zone are fabulous. A generous portion of light fluffy pancakes (plain or blueberry) with maple syrup, fruit and natural yogurt. The chicken avocado wrap is also very good. Friendly staff. Worth a visit when in Ennis.
When Suas was over Carraig Donn a couple of years ago the boss man always served the tables and he was friendly and also had a cupla focal as Gaeilge for us. Now in the new location he stays behind the coffee machine making coffee and does not have time to talk to his customers. Is it because it is difficult to train people to be a barrista coffee maker? If so then what can he do if he is ever sick and unable to go to work? We have stopped going in as it is not as friendly as it used to be.
Stopped in for a hot chocolate, some coffee and scones. The service was excellent, prices were not out of the way and the folks running the cafe couldn't be nicer. They make you feel welcome and relaxed. You sit up above the square in Ennis and watch folks going about their business. But the atmosphere is warm and ingratiating. Stop in for a coffee and then check out the shop. It's a nice place to unwind a bit. Enjoy!!!
