We ordered two pies and two sausage rolls. Fairly priced and fresh. Available for dine in or takeaway. Staff are very friendly and service was quick. Would definitely be back. View all feedback.
What Richie Welch doesn't like about The Fat Goose:
I have been a regular patron of the Fat Goose over the years, however I have taken the manager's rude attitude once too often. She rarely smiles, obviously hates her work and could not care less about your patronage, because she is unapologetic when provided...with feedback. The service is abominable, you can sit and wait for ever for someone to take your order, and if you go up to ask for service she will scowl at y... View all feedback.
My wife and I had the crumbed Barramundi fillets. The fish tasted great. We ordered a salad with our meal and it was good. My wife informed me that the coffee was really good. We booked ahead and this was a sensible option as the tables filled quickly around 12.30 pm.
Our first visit to the Fat Goose - a place with a pretty good reputation, was for lunch on a Sunday on a long weekend. We had the lamb salad and the lighthouse burger. Lamb salad was just lamb and a lot of green, but my boyfriend liked it (although that's hardly a recommendation he likes anything). The lighthouse burger was a disappointment - the meat (wagyu) was overcooked and crispy on one side, the portions of beetroot and tomato were tiny, the lettuce and greens ginormous, and the bun wasn't toasted. What's with not toasting the bun? All you get is a soggy mess. I get better burgers at takeaway cafes. The service was really good and friendly, and while it was busy it wasn't frantic and there were a lot of empty tables. Maybe the word is out. Our first visit was our last.
Relaxed breakfast spot with great coffee and good service. A good range of breakfasts, excellent mushrooms.
Has the management changed? This has been a favourite venue of ours for years but our visit today was sadly disappointing. The generosity we have always enjoyed is missing. The shashushka was a large spoon of tomato chorizo sauce tasty but sparse with onlyl ONE poached egg cooked separately not in the traditional manner in the sauce. We fared better with the eggs benny, a delightful hollandaise sauce. after paying $124 for 4 people we went home,The two who ordered the shahushka (one topped up with fruit toast)les than satisfied. Wewon't be returning soon.
Great coffee, good food and a happy ambiance. Its a place where the locals go which is always a good sign
