What bodhibrooke doesn't like about Bunkers:
I would be cautious of their battered fish, it had a lot of bones in it. When we drew the attention of this to the waitress she simply said “yes it would have”. I just found it really bizarre and unsafe to serve battered fish with bones you would assume deep fried fillet of cod with chips would mean fillet and not bones. I wouldn’t be feeding my children this. View all feedback.
We had an amazing meal at Bunkers. Killorglin is where my wife's grandfather is from, so while we were exploring the area, we decided to stop in for lunch. Our meals were delicious and the service was top-notch. My wife enjoyed the shepherd's pie and I ordered the fish and chips, both were excellent. Overall, a great experience.
We spent an hour and a half at the restaurant for lunch, waiting for starters and mains for 3 adults. There were around 5 different staff members serving our table. The baby bowl was not edible and the toasted sandwich was cold. We had to ask for water 3 times and the garlic mayo we requested was sour when it finally arrived. The overall quality of the food was not good and there was poor communication between the staff. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction during payment, the staff member did not seem to care or apologize. We will not be returning to this establishment.
This restaurant is very good, not perfect, but still very good. We ordered a chicken burger and a steak sandwich. The burger came with fries and sauce. The chicken was tasty, although I felt that there were a few too many onions on it. The sauce was also good, not overpowering, and paired well with the fries. The fries were decent. The steak sandwich was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the mushroom sauce tasted fresh. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food.

The best place for great food and service. Our last meal was delicious, as always with our favorite lady who pays attention to every detail. Thank you, see you in January. Susan and Cindy Browne.
