Great place for a hearty breakfast. Great menu of food offerings; some are very unique to this restaurant (ex: Joe's Pancake Lasagna). Homemade bourbon sauce is not only great on cinnamon buns, but also great when added to coffee. Our server, Jessica, was fantastic. Servings are huge...and the side pancakes are as big as a plate. Plenty of parking available. Well worth thedrive to dine here. View all feedback.
What Lee Delk doesn't like about The Jolly Roger:
Such a fun place to be. Everything was Christmas themed, at the beach! The service was great and the food was spot on. Was looking for some local waterfood and this hit the spot! Highly recommended checking them out!! View all feedback.
This restaurant is fantastic! The exterior and interior are both uniquely decorated and full of fun touches, including a little shop at the front and various seating areas. The food is also delicious. It's a bit on the expensive side, but most places at the beach tend to be, and the atmosphere is definitely worth it. If you're searching for a place with great food and an exciting vibe, this is the spot for you!
My family and I had dinner tonight at Jolly Rogers, and we were not disappointed. Everything was fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious. We all ordered Italian dishes, except for my son, who chose the kids' shrimp. Unlike typical kids' meals, this shrimp was the real deal—actual fried shrimp, not popcorn shrimp. My wife ordered their Bloody Mary, and she found it to be very good and nicely spicy.
The staff was awesome.. We went each of the 3times we went to the outer banks. The first time was on our honeymoon. The manager gave my husband a discount and a small gift..We found out from locals that the owner lost lots of money but stayed open andupdated ventilation during the pandemic.. A business owner with a great love for her employees and those they feed. Theatmosphere inside and out is awesome. The chef made the best steak my husband Ever had. Their cool gifts are quaint. The outsidefun photo opportunity is a nice family friendly memory maker itself.
Before we even sat down, we noticed a puddle on one of the tables and the floor next to it. We looked up to see that the ceiling was leaking. It was clear that someone had tried to fix it previously with a temporary patch. We informed our server, who then walked away and didn’t return for 15 minutes. When we approached someone at the front, her response was dismissive, as if she couldn’t care less about our issue. She finally agreed to check on the problem after several minutes. Her nonchalance suggested this wasn’t a new problem; she merely offered us a bucket to collect the dripping water or asked what we expected her to do, stating it was an old building with inherent issues. We requested to be seated at a different table—something the staff should have proactively offered—but were told it would be another 45-minute wait. After already waiting 1.5 hours with three kids, we left immediately. Our actual server never returned to check on us or even offer drinks during the 15 minutes we waited after being seated. We ended up going to Arts Place, just five minutes away, where they seated us right away. Save your money and frustration by choosing a different spot. Honestly, if we had stayed for dinner, I wouldn't have been able to hold back my nausea, thanks to the terrible attitude of that woman. To clarify, the vent in the photo was leaking, likely due to condensation, which is understandable. Our main concern was the leak from the ceiling two feet away, which is likely mixed with dirt and dust—definitely not something you want dripping onto your dining area.
