Reviews - The Woolpack Inn
Reviews summary
The Woolpack Inn is praised as a classic country pub where the cooking reliably impresses: meals arrive hot, well presented and suit everything from casual lunches to family celebrations. Guests repeatedly note the welcoming atmosphere, dog-friendly policies and a pleasant garden/outer seating area with ample parking, making it a handy stop for walkers, groups and special occasions. However, reviews also flag uneven service at times — occasional understaffing or distracted bar service — and prices that some customers find on the high side. Overall The Woolpack Inn remains a popular, homely choice for good food in Northamptonshire.

As always good food and service. The only slight downside is the prices but overall a good place for a special occasion.
Lovely food, nicely presented and piping hot. Restaurant was busy but service was excellent. Nice ambiance, will return.

We had our wedding reception at The Woolpack Inn 27/04/2024. Where do we even begin, no words will be enough to thank and express how amazing our whole experience has been from start to finish, from the rooms, venue, food, drink, all the staff, planning ect. Darren, Shannon, Darcy, Dan team, were second to none, and we couldn’t thank them enough for all their amazing support, professionalism, organisation, attention to detail and attentiveness. We had a vision of what we wanted our day to consist of and look like, and they brought it to life and even more than we could ever imagine. Shannon is absolutely incredible and what she does, and everything we had thought of or asked for, she ensured was done above and beyond. She made the whole entire process seem completely seamless and nothing was ever an issue. Shannon ensured our entire day ran incredibly smoothly, from the welcome drinks, sitting everyone down, speeches, gifts, first dance, cake cutting and into the evening entertainment until the very end. The little touches meant the most, ensuring when we arrived that we had a few drinks ready and put at our table for us, leaving wedding cake in our room so we could enjoy it at the end of the evening, all the little pieces to put on the table places, or additional bits we added ourselves, she took on herself to arrange and sort, so we didn’t have too on the day. We stayed in the onsite rooms for 2 nights, and I was very impressed with the size, cleanliness, facilities, presentation, the bed was very comfortable and had I had a great nights sleep. Also, great value for money. Would highly recommend staying here and would stay again. The venue itself was perfect for our day, we had the entire top floor restaurant and patio area. The restaurant itself has recently been decorated too, along with the patio area, which now has festival style lighting. The venue was perfect sized for our wedding, which was 80 day guests and 150 evening guests. The tables were changed so slightly bigger for the event, along with supplying table clothes, napkins ect. The facilities were faultless. On the day of the wedding, myself and the bridal party got ready in the stables, which is a fantastic space, large stone, light room, which was great for getting ready in, we enjoyed breakfast platters whilst getting ready, which was a perfect start to our day. We had a range of welcome drinks, 3 course meal, and a hog roast in the evening. The amount of compliments we received from our wedding guests was incredible, everyone was so impressed with the food quality, portion size and taste, and lots of guests saying it was the BEST wedding food they’d ever had, and we couldn’t agree more! Being local, we already knew the food was insane, but was lovely to enjoy it on our wedding day. The hog roast was one of the best I’ve had in a very long time! All the staff are absolutely incredible, from the managers, chefs, bar staff, waiters/waitresses, housekeeping, they were all so friendly, kind and attentive, and we couldn’t thank you guys enough for making our day perfect, no words will be enough! Overall, for overnight stays, fab pub grub or events, The Woolpack Inn couldn’t be recommended highly enough. Thank you again! Mr Mrs Logan x

Had a turkey roast today but no stuffing or sausage which is usually included? The dinner seemed smaller although still very nice, and I do wish they would do the normal run of the mill desserts Service: 5 Location: 5

As always good food and service. The only slight disadvantage is the prices, but overall a good place for a special occasion.
Very enjoyed our meals. The food was very good and came to the table hot...... unlike the alcohol coffee that was unfortunately cold!
Great service and food. all staff were friendly and efficient and did not make a fuss when we spilt a drink over the table and floor. I would definately recommend the woolpack, and we will be going back again
We had a last minute booked meal with our son who was home on leave. The food was excellent, great service and very friendley staff. Would recommend the food to everyone. We would go more often if we lived closer.
Visited for the first time in quite a few years the decoration was modern and bright. The staff really attentive but not too much so. The food was excellent the best we had eaten for a long time. The prices were as you would expect, mains around £15.00. Will be returning quite soon.
