Baranof Fishing Excursions - Ketchikan

Great fishing for halibut and rockfish. Caught all the fish we wanted. Friendly and skilled guide. Good equipment and boat.

Had a blast halibut fishing Chris took us to a spot and it was fish on from the second the bait and lure hit the bottom. He then told me I should try light tackle halibut fishing and handed me a set up, man that was a blast. I have a new addiction. We then fished for rock fish after we caught halibut limit’s. Caught a bunch of rock fish and we were running out of time but Chris was adamant that we go fish for lingcod, which we did and got a few. One was a monster. Not everybody got a lingcod but Chris kept on fishing and trying to get more. We did not get back to the dock until about 3:00pm, when we were supposed to be back at 1:00pm. Not too many guides would do that, When the time ends, that’s usually it. But not with him. I would definitely go back out and plan on it the next time I’m back in Ketchikan Alaska. Highly recommend going with Baranof, and Request for Chris! You won’t be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic fishing trip with Captain Jack. The weather and the water were perfect as we went Halibut fishing. Both my girlfriend and I were able to catch some halibut to bring home. We also reeled in a 115lb halibut that we had to throw back due to its size, which was a memorable experience for me. Despite my left forearm feeling dead, it was an awesome experience overall. Captain Jack was great and we even stayed out longer than planned because we were having so much fun. We had a fantastic time on the fishing trip with Baranof. Our boat captain was terrific and so patient. He made sure that both my husband and I caught a salmon and a halibut. This excursion was the best part of our (first) trip to Alaska. We had a wonderful gourmet dinner with some of the fish that we caught, and had the rest shipped back to our home. I'm not a fisherman but this trip was enough to convert me.

Great fishing, day on the water. Caught halibut and rockfish, saw sea lions and whales. Great company, they provide everything and do it right.
