We arrived to find a long line at this restaurant but were impressed by the efficient and quick kitchen service. Although they initially got our order wrong, they promptly corrected it. The Mexican food here was delicious and satisfying, particularly the fish tacos and spicy chicken quesadilla. Both dishes were generously portioned and made with fresh ingredients, offering a perfect blend of spicy, juicy, tangy, salt... View all feedback.
What Winfield Rodriguez doesn't like about Guzman Y Gomez:
Guzman is our MVP for a mid-week lunch on most days. Today we opt for the steak chipotle burrito bowl. Flavours were fantastic as always although we definitely had a few issues with the meat to rice ratio. More meat we say! This might be our first Guzman review but it definitely won't be our last considering the frequency in which we visit this joint. View all feedback.
I recommend the order by the app. I ordered on my desk at 12:20 clock went down to the restaurant and my order was ready at 12:24 clock, which was surprising for me. it is much faster than to go to the load, order and wait, especially during the midday period. I have a pulled pork burrito shell, it's decent for a quick feed. I'm annoying how they charge $3 for avo.
Came here to get a takeaway court: mini nachos. service was quite fast and friendly, but the court was not so impressive. the nachos were kind of stale and not crunchy.
So bad. When I first went to this special gyg, I found a piece of chicken in my veg afteros, I took it out and said nothing because I thought it could accidentally fall into my food while she wore a few meals at once. I went back on a quiet day, and I and my friend both ordered veg nachos, we started eating them and then found raw bacon cookies during our meal! 3 of 3 vegetarian meal with meat found in them!? when we took them back, they were not apologetic, they gave us back, but they did not seem the least phase that is a concern. seems unhygienic and I would recommend vegetarian to stay away.
Ordered a pulled pork burrito shell for delivery, eating came up late. asked and paid for sour looking, no sign of it, no jalapeno, no guac, no salsa, eating was tortured like a chaos in the container and did not look appetizing.
I’m normally a fan of Guzman for getting closer to rich savoury Mexican flavours than all the tex-mex imitators in Australia, but the UNSW branch is definitely dumbing it down for the students. The burrito seemed smaller than usual and had virtually no salsa, which also reduced the spiciness and it just didn't seem to have the usual Guzman flavour. Everything is served as takeaway, even though they have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. They don’t even have the Mexican cola, just lots and lots of coke (at least they also have beer). This wouldn’t fly if the students had decent food choices in the surrounding area.
