Contribute FeedbackAccigua, a restaurant near Olympia, Kensington, offers a blend of Ligurian and Piedmont cuisine with a modern twist. While some dishes are inconsistent and decor may seem off-putting, the friendly staff and excellent wine list create a welcoming atmosphere. Osso Buco and pasta dishes shine, showcasing the chef's meticulous training in Genoa. The portions are satisfying without being heavy, and the thoughtful service leaves a lasting impression. Despite some room for improvement in ambiance, Accigua stands out for its traditional Italian flavors with a unique touch, making it a worthwhile dining experience for those seeking authentic dishes.
This is a terrific chef-style restaurant near Olympia, Kensington. It is family run, but feels absolutely professional. The Osso Buco was sublime. Generally speaking, when the appetizers and main courses are excellent, the desserts are wanting. This was not the case here.
Good food with an interesting twist veal cooked sous vide, which made it very tender. Interesting menu not too overwhelming. Lovely people we had a good natter in Italian with them. Difficult to judge value as we had a Groupon, but the menu seemed reasonable. We hope to go back.
The food can be excellent but it is variable: some dishes are put together strangely or have one piece that is a bit odd/off the sauce, for example. The interior decorating is not quite right; the lights are super white/cold, the dining room smells strongly of bleach, and the art work on the walls is weird. The staff try very hard and are very nice. The wine list is very good. Overall it is a strange place that tries hard but is overpriced as a result.
Wanted to try this restaurant when it opened. We tried to get a table just by calling in but never could. Decided to book through Opentable there weren't any options at the regular 7.30 8.30 time so went for a 9pm table. Very surprised to turn up at 9pm to a virtually empty restaurant to be asked if we were the ones that booked (no name required! . The lights were on full so was quite tiring to sit in such strong light. It felt like there were problems and the few tables that had people the kitchen was struggling to cope. Food not even close to the standard we were expecting. Service was very good and friendly (best part of the meal . No way we were going to risk dessert..... Got the bill and got out of there!
I got in touch with Accigua to help me organise a client dinner, unfortunately it fell through but I was still very much keen to try it out myself. I was not disappointed as the manager made myself and my friend feel incredibly welcome and kept giving us little snacks in between meals. The portions of the meals were perfect because they were filling without making me feel full and heavy. At the end of our meal, my friend and I were invited to an art lunch that was being hosted there. I am very keen to go back as the service was outstanding and incredibly caring. Almost like attending a dinner hosted by a relativr
