The lunch special is superb value . $7.95 for spicy soup and one of about 12 choices . All with steamed rice . My favourite is the Kung pao chicken , just the right spice level. Tasty! The main menu is also available if you are really hungry . Family run and friendly . Now our go to Chinese for take out in Kelowna. View all feedback.
What Don Murray doesn't like about Tradition Chinese Cusine:
Honestly the worst Chinese food we have ever had. Everything was soggy and not flavourful. Food took forever. We will not buy again. Very disappointing. I think they dropped one of the deep fried prawns on the floor and put it back in! Got a nice bite of dirt, YUK! View all feedback.
It is for sure very traditional northern China diner food.We ordered the green onion pan cake 葱油餅,sweet-bean-paste noodles 炸醬面, spicy cow intestine mix 夫妻肺片。The Intestines and the pan cake are 5 star for sure. Especially the mix was beef with cow stomach 百葉, not the usual tendon 筋. Some people may be disappointed, but was a pleasant surprise to me. The 花椒spice is absolutely authentic!!!The noodle is good, but will only give the sauce a 3 star. I prefer it's done with minced or ground pork, and maybe adding a little sugar to bring a richer flavor.Overall this is a very authentic Chinese diner and I would go back!
Was going to try it out on a Tuesday at 1130. Locations signs posted hours of opening at 11. Unfortunately there was no one there and the door was locked.
Local Chinese and Chinese Canadian friends told us the food at Tradition was their favourite Chinese cuisine restaurant. A group of us went and hoped for the best and we were not disappointed. When the spring rolls arrived and were not greasy, a good sign. We had two hot pot dishes - cauliflower and our absolute new go to - potato - spicy and beyond delicious. The prawns were uniquely tasty and lemon chicken was light and flavourful. The stir fried veggies were perfectly (lightly cooked) and full of taste. The decor is simple but the family running the restaurant are friendly and accommodating - this is our new Chinese restaurant!!!!

We first and only night in Kelowna and wanted some Chinese food, saw this place on the travel magazine. Easy parking although the restaurant is in a one-way street. Services were fast, food was good and reasonably priced.
