What Greg J doesn't like about Pattie House:
Dropped in with a few buddies recently for wings and drinks. Nice and open place with a good vibe. Like others have mentioned, wings were on smaller side and dry. For the price you get 7 or 8 wings which seems on the low side of what you'd typically get elsewhere. Portions for onion rings were small and pickle chips weren't very tasty. Will definitely try again when we're in the area but expectations will be tempered... View all feedback.
We went for lunch a bit ago. Atmosphere was a bit dark and old. Glasses for water were not very clean. The food was edible. It was wing day and we didn't order wings. Should have ordered the wings. We will next time.... when not much else if open and we have limited choice. The staff was friendly.
As a sort of musician, I like to support venues that have Live music....and the Patti House in Coboconk has bands playing most weekends. I haven't been to one of the concerts yet, but its nice to see they have a full size piano and a very large stage. I like the spacious atmosphere of the restaurant. Also that they have a classic rock Sirius radio station........and it is being fed through a good system at a volume you can hear well with no distortion and not overly loud. As for the food.......ordered a one piece fish and chips and their soup of the day. Both were very good and substantial portions. THe soup was a beef soup with lots of vegetables......very hearty. The fish had a very nice batter, although the fish itself was a bit (but not too) mushy rather than flaky. But I enjoyed it. Good fries too, with the skins still on the potatoes. Service was friendly........and it came reasonably quickly. Definitely worth coming back to. One strange occurrence, however. I came earlier to get a coffee to go. They said they don't serve coffee to go. I said I have my own takeout cup (which I showed). Nope....no coffee to go. But they pointed across the street to M's Bake shop and said I could get coffee there. At first I was taken aback. Then thought......they are probably wanting to support this new bakery/coffee shop and don't want to compete with their specialty. So now I'm thinking "good for them". (I hope that's why).
We had the ribs and wings and they were great. Ribs fell right off the bone, had them back in summer and didn't enjoy them at all. The waitress was great she talked me back into them, explaining they have some new kitchen staff and they killed it, amazing job... the table beside us was having the fish and it looked good too. Always cold beer with a good selection. Place was busy, and I find the prices very good compared to the chain restaurants in the city. Check this place out, well worth the chance!!!!!
Delicious food! I especially love the clubhouse sandwich with sweet potato fries and the best spinach salad anywhere! Great liver & onions, too!
I would stop by again for lunch. The pulled pork was great...not my style but tender and juicy. Needs more sauce for me. Mac n' cheese was garlicky but lacked any other real flavour. Still... I would return to try other sides. Lots of beer choices as well. Lunch and a local draft...$20. + tip.
