Coolest bar in Kansas City (maybe even all over America), hands down. A few stages with live music, fun drinks, hip vibe and atmosphere, with friendly staff and a variety of crowds. One of my go-toes and a real jewel. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Ship:
I was so excited to see this place because, hello, it looks like you're on a ship! How could you say no? Well, it didn't make it, but 10 feet in the door when the Bouncer said it would cost $10 to come. If the popular jazz clubs in the city are just $5 at the door, and they have live music, there is no way I ever pay $10 to get into a place that blows music over a speaker. View all feedback.
The ship is a bar that also serves food in a very old building in a warehouse district that looks ripe for gentrification. The servers were very friendly. I was told by locals that they have live music with some impressive performers on certain nights.
This place is literally the ANCHOR for the West Bottoms in KC. The atmosphere is great and the Cuban sandwich is killer!! Order it with Fritten. Sit at the back bar if you can. Good mood!
Had a great lunch with the family. This place has a very great feeling for it. The food was great and the staff was very helpful. The next time we're in the area will definitely stop.
I really like this place. Especially if it is not super packed and you have space to move. Great drinks, sweetheart at the bar. Bartenders are cool. Great atmosphere. Good menu with delicious food. Just a fun place to be with friends. I like going to the back entrance, although this parking lot can be quite treacherous.
This place has it all. It truly captures the essence of Kansas City. It's run and supported by local artists, creating strong connections and respect within the local jazz scene and the underground music and creative community. I've enjoyed a wide range of performances, featuring a blend of cultural, worldly, local, and Kansas City talent. The music atmosphere is always vibrant and filled with positive energy. There's ample space for dancing, especially on busy nights, with both small and large stages catering to various touring acts. I've spent many late nights here, celebrating Mardi Gras, enjoying lunch gatherings, and marking special occasions. The staff is friendly but knows how to handle themselves—arriving with respect is key. The crowd is typically smiling, enjoying themselves, and feeling comfortable in this inclusive venue. It's the complete package for entertainment and food. You can dress casually or go for something fancier. Everyone is welcome here, and it's a place where good vibes reign.
