Balmhorn - Kandergrund

We found this place by chance while driving back to Thun after a 20km hike in the area. We were lucky the kitchen was open at 17:00 p.m and we had no expectations, we just wanted to eat. But the food was really good, we took the beef fillet which was lightly roasted and came with the pan and some flavored Krauter butter which allowed us to cook it as we liked it. The owners were very friendly. We‘ll stop here again!

Onion soup average or below average; good fitnessteller with an average salad plus a good steak and a very good piece of sirloin; good steak with peppersauce. an acceptable place to stop for lunch while you drive, but at the end the price goes to about 50 chf per person (without wine). pleasant terrase when weather is good, typical medium level swiss restaurant inside

Ich habe in meinem Leben noch nie so schlecht gegessen. Das Risotto war verkocht und das Rindfleisch angebrannt, auch das Dessert war eine Katastrophe. Die Aprikosen schmeckten nach Abwaschmittel und das Apfelsorbet enthielt ganze Stücke Äpfel im harten Eis wie Steine. Dazu kamen auch noch schmutzige Servietten und Gläser.

We ordered the “Chez-Nous” and it was fantastic. The beef fillet was great and the herb butter sauce was perfect
