Contribute FeedbackAlthough some diners find the cafeteria-style food and high prices unacceptable, others have had positive experiences at the Fish Hopper. The ambiance offers a nice view of the water, and the seafood dishes have received praise, particularly the fish and chips. Service can be hit or miss, with some guests receiving excellent service while others felt rushed or neglected by staff. Overall, opinions are mixed on this historic Kailua-Kona restaurant, making it advisable for patrons to call ahead for a reservation if they want to secure a window seat with a beautiful ocean view.
Great first night and returned second nite. out of lobster, ordered tuna...not so good. my wife had two great meals...I highly recommend and the service was fantastic...see manager, joel...free dessert on anniversary!!!!
The view is outstanding. The food was perfection and every waiter was happy and helpful. A very positive experience which hasn’t been the case at other restaurants in Kona
Calamari had too much batter and didn’t taste good. Had mahi mahi dinner. The sauce was great and it came with a lot of veggies. Got a salad that was over dressed but was ok
As an airline pilot who spends days month away from home, the Fish Hopper is my go to place for breakfast in Kailua Kona. Good food, solid service, great “French Press” Kona Coffee; it starts my go home day right
For the price I wasn't impressed with the food. Luke warm scallops, mussels and clams bland. Service was good though
